How To Make Money At ATM's- I wish there really was a way to, but something happened to me tonight which just made my day. After work, I was heading home and decided to stop by the ATM so I could get my rent money out. There was a long line, but I sure am glad I stayed. When it was finally my turn, I went to put my card in. A message on the screen insisted that I remove my cash first, but I assured myself I had not requested any at that time. I looked in the cash dispenser, and a $40 cash gift left to me by the person in front of me was waiting. I rapidly finished my transaction and left, $40 richer. Nice!

You did not turned around and try to find the last guy to return his gift certificate?

it wasn't gift certificates, but rhat $40 in cold hard cash. if i would have left money in the cash dispenser, i do not expect the person behind me to chase me and return it.

I would have chased the guy in a civil air patrol fire department truck down and returned the money and would have done the same had it been you. I have been more honest than that. I have been given a dime more at a than I should have gotten at a grocery store and told them that they didn't give me the right amount of change back. They acted offended at first thinking that I was telling them that I was shorted the dime.

come on you babies, that's not the point of this story.. he left his money and he drove off.. what am i supposed to do?

moral of this story- stupid people who leave their money inside the atm should automatically forfeit the money with no chance of getting it back.

i dunno...i sure would hate to lose my money like that; but who knows, maybe it was some rich philantropist who just likes to make peoples' day. i think it would be fun to do stuff like that if i had enough money, but i don't, so i'd be pretty bummed if i left it there--but what can you do?
